Just a quick note to say thanks for our fabulous recent holiday [March 2008] at L'Elzet, we had a fantastic time, walked many miles over lots of hills and always came back to a smiling welcome from our hosts.
The accommodation was perfect and the memories of the dinner you invited us to during our stay will stay with us for ever.
Very many thanks to you both for being excellent hosts - and my French has improved immeasurably ! Hope all is well with you both and we look forward to returning to L'Elzet some time in the future.

We all enjoyed ourselves....We loved all the animals, think we had named them all by the time we left! We ate terribly well, drank a lot, laughed too much, what more could you want? Our favourite places visited were the Arena in Nimes , Uzes, St Jean du Gard and the caves and of course the wonderful scenery.

Jeaves et Philippe se sont avérés être la plupart des serveurs généreux et ont eu une excellente connaissance locale...discovered ce que je considère la meilleure natation de fleuve en France dans l'aquamarine et le cristal - les eaux claires du fleuve voisin local. Il y a un excellent restaurant de cordon bleu et attractions locales. Notre visite à L'Elzet a marqué le début d'une aventure amoureuse qui durera si tout va bien un long temps !"

We had a really lovely week at l'Elzet. Everything lived up to our high hopes and we have come back wanting to book again for next year. Is the Tower available for (xx) August 2008? If so we would like to book again soon! The sofa bed was ideal for the boys and they loved everything about the place -animals, pool, other kids and Jeaves

"We had a fantastic holiday at L'Elzet. I think Jeaves filled you in about the exploits of our eldest Connor - walking up that hill several times at 2 in the morning! Lucky our holiday coincided with the village festival and he had even had a few disco's to go to. We certainly played lots of tennis both in the village and in St. Jean, especially as the weather was a bit cloudy some days. The cascades were suberb, and the canoe trip down the Tarn gorge was stunning.

We will certainly recommend it to our friends and family".

As you expected, we were made most welcome and enjoyed a superb week, favoured by near-perfect weather,

Jeaves prepared a splendid repast for our arrival (Thank you for arranging that) and we dined with her on our final evening - another exquisite meal, enjoyed in the grand manner, in her home.

Please let Jeaves know how much we appreciated her company and her delightful accommodation. L'Elzet is no ordinary gite!

The listing on Chez Nous and the further photos you e-mailed to us gave a very good idea of the property and location of L'Elzet so we were certain that this was a 'lucky find' for our fairly last minute booking. We can therefore say that we were not disappointed when we arrived and found everything was so lovely. The house and gite exceeded our expectations- just like stepping into the pages of a magazine on interior design.

What the website can't do justice to is the warmth of the welcome you get from Jeaves - a cold drink and, more importantly, time to sit down together to unwind and get acquainted. Then, after settling and unpacking, aperitifs on the patio, complete with home made canapés! By the first morning it felt as if we had known each other for years!

This for us is the great advantage of having the owner on site; a friendly but discrete presence, someone to give local insight on places of interest and to share the experiences at the end of the day.

Jeaves also has a talent for bringing her guests together, in our case a very nice French family with 2 young girls, so that there was real conversation rather than just polite bonjours. One real attraction for children must be the animals. It's not everywhere that you can pet sheep, pigs and goats. We know how L'Elzet worked its magic on these two to the point that they didn't want to leave! They were also Jeaves' 'shadow' following her everywhere, which was met with great patience. I'd certainly recommend the place for families.

I hope Jeaves would agree with our summing up, we arrived as guests but left as friends.

Hi Annette,
We had a wonderful 5 days at L'Elzet. The weather got hotter and hotter during the week and we enjoyed all the scenery, BBQ's, company of other quests and great accommodation.
Jeaves is continuing to be the perfect host. I am sure we will be back to visit L'Elzet again, hopefully next year.
